American Spine Registry Shows Infection is Leading Post-Surgical Complication
The American Spine Registry, a joint project between the AAOS and AANS, has issued its First Edition Annual Report providing comprehensive data on spine surgeries from 2015 to 2023. The Report shows that surgical site infections are by far the most common surgical complication at 64.8% of all lumbar fusion complications and 59.1% of all cervical fusion complications.
